We visited Rothesay on a day trip recently during the spell of good weather. As we were catching the last ferry home we thought we should get something to eat first. We spotted the Esplanade and as it says the "locals eat here". Quite a nice view over the pier and bay and it was not to busy. One of the waiting staff seemed a bit nippy with us and another was really great with our service. We thought it was a wee bit overpriced and if ordering the macaroni, watch out because if you want chips they are considered as extras and these are charged as side order. I havent been anywhere else where you just get macaroni, you usually get chips with them and are not charged extra for this, so watch our for this.
Overall it was a great view, but service was hit and miss and chips should be included in the main meal.More
