I have been goin to rothesay for years and My family had bought a holiday flat there though we had to use the Victorian toilets when we first bought house, it had amazing shower facilities always very warm and very clean, the decor is beautiful absolutely stunning, I know it is just a bathroom but it is like goin back in time entering them like something you see in old fashioned movie go see for yourself if you get the chance

Thank allison k

If you like something a little bit different, certainly worth a visit. Some funny comments on here, what do some people expect, its a Victorian toilet done to a high specification. Not some thing you see every day so give it a look.

After walking 7 miles along the front of Rothsey needed to pay a call.40p to go to the loo.Good clean toilets .Then had to pay another 40p to visit the men's toilet which are the victorian ones.Just like going back in time .If passing worth a wee call.

We did Rothesay Isle of Bute in July but didn't get a chance to visit the old victorian public WC - so on this trip we paid a penny and was Gobsmacked at the sheer quality and hygienic decor that we have not experienced or had privilege to use since we were both children (59 yrs of age ) now - Well done to the heritage and Rothesay staff who maintain such a wonderful exhibition - G@J Wakefield UK

We read about these toilets on the way to bute and thought it might be interesting as a different historic site to visit.
It certainly was and the attendant was very nice and gave us lots of info about how the site was saved and restored.
Definitely the only time I have been to a 'public convenience' as a tourist attraction
