We booked this hotel with the It is on.voucher. Loved the location lovely views. Evening meal and both breakfasts included with the voucher which gave us the opportunity to taste the food in the local pub The Tyndrum Inn which was lovely. There are a few eating place surrounding the hotel so plenty of options. We had a problem with the television no sound. That was sorted out without any hesitation. We met Dutch people and local people. Tyndrum is a stop off for the Highland Way so prices in the shops are very expensive. The staff are very busy and a few of them were there when we arrived on the Friday and still there on the Sunday morning before we left. We didn't have to wait long before we were served. I really don't know what people expect Home from Home? Why go away for a break?

Room Tip: We had room 86 which looked onto the pond at the front of the hotel and a view of the hills

Nice hotel with beautiful scenic views. On arrival it became clear that they had lost the record of our booking. The receptionist Isabella remained calm and managed to sort us with a room even though she was being bombarded with coaches of oap's arriving at the same time. Food was reasonable as part of a deal and drink was reasonably priced. Entertainment was available but clearly aimed at an elderly audience as I could not manage a foxtrot. Isabella, who was very helpful throughoutsolving everyone's problems and explaining everything to other staff who's English was not so good keep everything under control. She is a major assets to the hotel.

The hotel location is very picturesque and beautiful. The hotel itself, however, is in a poor condition- it needs urgent refurbishment, particularly the beds and bedding. Unfortunately I HAVE to mention the standard of housekeeping, which was below standard. These issues are a strong reflection of the poor hotel management and in the main, can only be addressed by management. The reasons for this? Based on our observations over an eight-night stay, the hotel staff, have insufficient time to complete their tasks, basically they were understaffed. The staff even with communication barriers made every effort to make our stay as comfortable as possible within the limits of what they could do for us hence the 2 star review otherwise it would've been 1 star which my amazing fabulous granddaughter wanted. Scottland was really enjoyable, would recommend a visit but not at this hotel.

My partner and I booked for two nights and left after the first night. 99.9% of the occupants of the hotel are well over 80 and the sea of wheel chairs and zimmers in the restaurant is phenomenal. Don't get me wrong it is very well set up for bus tours and food was okish. The rooms are so dated. 80s style of terracotta walls and bedding and pillows are old and musty. The shower was powerful enough. One thing that we noticed was (this is not a criticism more of an observation) nearly all of the staff are foreign and their English is poor. ?? Where are all the Scottish people? For that authentic Scottish experience .
