First of all, i just came out of this restaurant, in 10mins i have the urge to write this review. One side of this place is a pub and the other side is a hidden italian restaurant gem called Papa Rab’s. We were quite doubtful when we entered this place thru the pub wondering if they serve food. But then we were lead thru this small corridor thru the bar and lo and behold... a surprisingly good atmospheric restaurant! The waitress are very-very friendly and always with a positive vibe and smile! The food was excellent, we had calamari fried rings... this is the first time in the uk we manage to get great non greasy ones... the batter outside was just the right thickness and crispyness, the squid taste was not too over powering, the combination with the herbs is like: this is the benchmark of how squid rings should have been! Why after all these years... where have you been all my life! We also had lamb... boy oh boy... the chef really know what they cook! The lamb shank is soooo good that I use my hand to enjoy it... forget fork and knife... it is that good! The pizza.... it is like unbelieveable delicious! Forget about chain pizza rubbish! This is serious good seafood pizza! The chef are legendary! Again the waitress are very-very nice, how we hope if every human is as nice as them, the world would have been more peaceful. I hope they can make a new page for them and i will be happy to write a review for them again. It is worth the 4.5hours drive from Edinburgh to here for the food. We love it!!
