We went for a drive into Wales from Wirral heading towards the hills from chirk. Lovely scenery heading towards the tiny village of llanarmon D.C. We stopped and went in on Sunday around 15:30pm, warm, fire on and smiles from the staff with a relaxed approach. Now , on a Sunday in a country pub at 15:30pm you would expect to be able to have a good home cooked meal...... my partner was looking forward to a Sunday roast .... nope!!
They will serve afternoon tea and sandwiches. We were surprised and nearly turned around , we gave it a chance and it was lovely, waited slightly longer than expected for soup and sandwiches but when they arrived we were very pleased. Big smiles and very well presented food. Even the scone for my 2 1/2 year old was pretty epic!!
So it was warm, cosy, lots of history, very traditional , really nice food with a little wait and prices slightly higher than expected but can't really fault it. The staff were very nice! We shall return for a possible stay over there. Thankyou from
