Read the reviews and wasn't expecting the experience we had on our visit.
We were a party of 6 golfers, we started with 6 pints of cold Cobra and poppadoms while we choose our mains.
Our choices were special biryani, chicken masala, lamb Bhutan and chicken tikka dupiaza. All the dishes, rice and nans were delicious.
If your in town I recommend a visit or take away.

Ok, so they had a big birthday party in there which didn't help, but there were no apologies or anything for the length of time this experience took.

The food tasted pretty good when it eventually arrived but a. the Madras was ridiculously spicy b. clearly by the amount of steam coming off the food and the time it took to cool down, it had been over-microwaved.

Wouldn't return.

We visited Spice Bank on a quiet Thursday evening around 7pm, we were the only people in the place so service was quick and efficient, the food was excellent, definitely one of the better Indian meals I've had and the sauces of the meals we had were different enough to tell it wasn't a 1 pot curry house.

The place itself is an old bank and is essentially one big room with a high ceiling, real fire and wood panelling and has a nice atmosphere.

A meal for 4 (2 adults, 2 children of 10 and 14) came to around £56 and I'd happily eat here again.

Not a busy night in Criccieth but the Spice Bank was not paying much interest....
Slow service with a very moderate number of customers could have been forgiven if the food had been anything other than average. Dishes lacked spice let alone heat and the surroundings are getting a bit tired. A location that could have been a real money maker has turned into a restaurant economical with flavour. A bit of investment in customer service, more account of waiting time and careful chequing of the surroundings would have resulted in a better experience. Credit where due, to coin a phrase, the staff tried but needed to up the ante.

The menu and the food here is great. We came as a group of 7 and all enjoyed the meal. Staff were nice however they told us we couldn't split the bill using card (I could see the card machine on the bar) which was odd. So bring money if you're wanting to split the bill! Overall, would visit again.
