Stopped here for the night during a walk on Offa's dyke. Room (single) was £40 plus breakfast. I eat here, too, on the night I arrived.
Clearly Wetherspooons have invested heavily in the place because it is smart, tody, warm and very popular. The room was small (as is often the case with single rooms) with a good shower and enough space to administer myself after a rather wet day on the hills.
Evening meal was excellent and very good value, especially the 'meal deals' and drinks. I had their special Haggis dish, which was tasty and filling. Breakfast, too, was very good.
The restaurant was packed on the Friday night I was their. There is even a log fire in the restaurant, which I believe is highly unusual for a Wetherpersons.
I must also say that the staff were excellent in all regards; friendly, proud and provided a quick service.
I would return in an instant and thank the establishment for a very relaxing evening/night.More
