Owner description: One of the most magnificent of Britain's castles is the "birth place of the Tudor Dynasty." You can climb the 80ft Great Keep, descend into a pre-historic cave and look down into a prisoner in a medieval dungeon. There is also a cafe and gift shop. During school holidays there are falconry displays, historic re-enactments and family entertainment. The main exhibition rooms display models and weaponry as well as telling the story of the history of the castle. You can also visit the room that King Henry VII the founder of the Tudor Dynasty was born.

Pembroke Castle has a wealth of history from the 11th to 17th centuries, from the Normans breaking into South Wales, the birth of Henry VII to the Civil War. I won second prize in a baby contest there in 1959 and have a season ticket even now! Be sure to take a free guided tour with one of the enthusiastic and well-informed hosts, or to take advantage of the many fun and educational family events there.

As a family of four and our beloved dog, we decided to visit Pembroke Castle whilst on holiday at Pendine Sands. We were surprised where the castle was situated and how big it was. There were car parks quite close to the castle and we only paid £1 for 4 hours which was very cheap! It cost us about £27 for 3 adults and 1 teen, plus guide book which was reasonable. It was raining lightly but we didn’t let the weather put us off There was a birds of prey exhibition which was really good. There were lots of different exhibits and information in and around the castle, and the cafe was reasonably priced too. We all had a really good day out and would definitely visit again.

Decided to visit the castle to end a three day winter break. When we saw the entrance fee we thought it was a bit steep, but went ahead anyway. We opted for the guided tour and WOW was that money well spent. Howard our guide made our day. His knowledge, story telling and humour was incredible. He apologised for running over time but we could have stayed another hour at least. If you are in the area this is a must. We also found out that the castle gets absolutely no funding from anywhere so that explains the entry fee. Thank you very much for a great day.

Adult only ghost walk didn't disappoint. Norman the tour guide was captivating, he kept the atmosphere alive to the extent you could almost visualise what was happening.
Great story telling.
History combined with the ghostly goings on in a perfect location....fabulous.
Good value for money.
