Took the ferry from Circular Quay to Watsons in Spring sunshine.

The trip out was a great experience alone.

We got to Doyles greeted by our very own Pelican. One of the rarest I have ever met.

Sat down at the beach front and ordered wine. A fresh South australian sauvignon.

Ordered our posh fish and chips and indulged.

Good food and well sized portions. Wine choice ok. Pelican and rest of staff : excellent.

Thank Gary S

We have eaten at Doyle’s before but this time we were not happy. We didn’t book and still got in there’s heaps of room but if you go later in the day you may have to wait. There are two lines one for people who have booked and one for people who haven’t. If you have booked you get served first which is the right thing to do.
We got put up stairs which was lovely we had a mice view and it was relaxing. Until a large party of about 40 people arrived, well some had already been drinking before they arrived and thought they had to yell at each other and not just talk to each other.
It was a very windy day and people were being asked to move out side so it wasn’t as loud. Others moved down stairs etc, this group of people were never told to quite down at any time.
Anyway the food we had the garlic prawns and they were awful my husband had the prawn cocktail, now tell me who puts carrots and cucumber in a prawn cocktail?
We shared the flat head fish and chips which was lovely. We left after that because of the large group who were getting louder.

Beautiful view of Watson Bay.
Been here a few times for the last 20 years, service is great!! Food?? Average fish and chips for $44 ...that’s getting ridiculously expensive ...
My seafood chowder...well more like a seafood bisque was nothing special...
Will definitely think twice before going back again.. it’s a shame but that’s progress.. or greed???
