Disappointing stay here. On checking in, given wrong information about breakfast times. Breakfast starts at 8.00 not 8.30 as we’re told.Taken to the room via stairs where the carpet was threadbare. The room was dingy with very dark paint on one wall. The window frames were tatty and dirty. No shelf in the bathroom for toothbrush etc. 2 coat hangers only. Got into bed late only to find there was no sheet on the bed. Slept on uncomfortable mattress protector. Wanted a cup of tea in the morning, no ordinary teabags and no milk. Told that we should have been told to ask for milk if we needed it when we checked in! Asked for milk the following evening and given a jug of milk in a bowl of ice to keep cool during the night. Put this in the bathroom as the bedroom was warm but as no shelf had to put it in the floor. Plug hole in the sink needs a good ‘toothbrush’ scrub. No cereal option other than porridge or granola at breakfast. Poached egg was solid! Fabric of building tired. Not good value for money. Use of toilet facilities in neighbouring room leaves nothing to the imagination.

Stayed recently following a wonderful wedding reception in the barn.

The reception was fantastic, staff were super helpful and food lovely, nothing was too much trouble.

We stayed overnight as a treat but sadly we didn't enjoy our stay - rooms are very small, they are decorated well and have a comfy quality bed but hardly any room to move and not the usual extras you expect - no hairdryer, no shower gel, no milk or sweeteners to go with the tea & coffee.

The worst aspect for us was the noise - Rooms 8 & 9 are above the generator room and the noise was constant, this together with the lack of any sound proofing between rooms (we could hear taps going on in the next room, never mind toilets flushing) meant a very bad nights sleep.

Breakfast was lovely, high quality ingredients (black pudding was inexplicably missing) staff were friendly and provided a speedy service.

Would not stay again, we were asked how our stay was and despite saying we were unable to sleep due to the noise there was no response - don't get me wrong the manager on duty was great but obviously not in a position to resolve and don't feel this was acceptable at £130 per night

The venue is very nice. The Sunday roast was reasonable in price and quality however NO vegi option, we were offered a roast without meat, poor. The starters and deserts were good. Beware red Shiraz was £36, cost price c£15 and the service charge was added to the bill without warning.

Room tip: It was very busy and therefore the parking was difficult.

We found this place along a winding road and thought the food and drinks were excellent- good range of dishes including a kids menu.
Large range of seating options including outside booths.
Reasonable pricing and great service- definitely worth a visit.

Fantastic staff, the Inn was in a wonderful rural setting. The service, food and drink were all excellent. Our room was charming and characterful, but needs soundproofing between rooms, especially bathrooms.
