A park is a natural, artificial or semi-natural public area set aside for ornamental or recreational purposes. Some larger parks are used for conservation of wildlife and indigenous plants. A garden is an outdoor planned space, that is set aside for cultivation of plants and flowers. The main reason for setting up a garden could either be for consumption or beauty.

So whilst this crosses the boundaries a little... this space is definitely a botanic park , rather than a botanic garden.

I am a bit perplexed by the reviews because the area is quite beautiful allowing for walks along well laid out paths. And whilst someone mentions there is no playground... the playground is extensive and beautifully laid out.

But asides from other reviewers? My thoughts are that the area is worth visiting... it has everything you want from a park... undercover BBQ areas, toilets, seatings, paths to stroll, picturesque areas for photos, a playground, an area where they are growing food... it really does encompass everything you need. In fact, it would make a great location for an outdoor wedding, if they permitted it.

I strolled through the park in the afternoon and found the paths were beautifully managed... there were locals walking their dogs, older people out for a stroll and I could hear children's laughter from the playground... it is a beautiful location.

This park was a big disappointment for us. We heard about the great playground, however when we arrived there was a seesaw and a small slide. Unfortunately it's been removed to be upgraded so one day it'll be great again.

We came across the park at the end of a lovely meal in Mansfield. Tracks are well made and wide enough so very accessible. There is a small lake and many plants around. There are plenty of birds. There is good parking and toilets available. The park goes back into town. There are some sculptures and a small playground.
