Very good standard but lacks the touches that would make it 5 Star - average size towels, long life milk in refrigerator. Excellent breakfast, great room size but not the best layout. Excellent ground floor lounge and all in a beautiful setting.

Room tip: West facing upstairs for great sunsets on a clear night

Yes the furnishings are tired, but the room was clean and spacious, the shower hot, and the bed comfortable with a choice of pillows. The pool looked inviting (however the weather was very inclement). The food in the restaurant was excellent although the service a little slow however the decor is very plain, very much like a wedding venue.
The walk next door to Brown Bros through manicured gardens was very enjoyable. And the sunsets from our room spectacular though these rooms are probably very hot in summer. Milawa is a quiet little town centrally located to many of the sights in the area. All in all enjoyable and relaxing.

Room tip: best views are from the sunset rooms but are hot in summer

I totally agree with other reviews here. Great staff but the place needs to be spruced up with total makeover. The signage at front door is a bit confusing as the reception desk is hidden behind a wall with a small sign that can hardly be seen at first glance. Room was comfortable and adequate. We came on a Luxury Escapes package but I would certainly not pay the full price for what we got as not worth it. Having said that, the restaurant dinner was very good and breakfast was fine. The area around is magnificent and the autumn colours were superb. Milawa is a great base for touring around.

We spent two nights here and have some mixed emotions regarding the place. It is situated in a lovely location within nice grounds with plenty of parking. The staff were friendly and efficient and our room was large and comfortable. There is also a large comfortable lounge with a pleasant outlook the Merlot vines.
On the other hand it is showing its age and needs dollars spent on the stained and cracking render, the very very tired carpets and marked skirting boards etc.
There is a good quality restaurant here but aim for a table near a window if you want to improve the ambience of a rather large and somewhat bland room.
Breakfast is adequate but with a limited selection of hot food and average coffee.
So, if it's a grand country retreat you're after it is not. That said it is a step up from your average motel style accommodation.
Given some love and attention it is capable of a 4 rating.

Stayed here for 2 nights and highly recommend Room was spacious with everything you needed. Only fault was the bed was a bit hard for my liking. Lovely sitting room with a fire to enjoy a drink after dinner. Staff were very friendly and helpful
