Booked a 2 night stay here, but wish we would have stayed somewhere else. First impressions the hotel looked nice,-just what I wanted. We had to wait at the front dest to checkin for a good 10 min even though we rang the bell a couple of times- so not a good start. There was no lift and we had our little boy of 15month with his buggy and 2 large suitcases, so not good if you have walking issues. The member of staff showed us to our room but was unable to open the door- the lock was very difficult- as we later found out for ourselves. The room had no bath which I had requested and they were unable to change our room for us. The room was actually quite nice but on the small side and you opened the french doors onto the verandah at the front of the hotel- which again was quite nice. The hotel is situated right on the main road so if your a light sleeper dont stay here as the traffice starts at aprox 6am and its very loud. The breakfast was ok, but again we encountered service problems. We came down for breakfast early but sat there for 15min without any service, even after asking twice, and then finally a member of staff came but was rather rude in expecting us not to have breakfast. Overall wouldnt stay here again, there are much nicer places in the region.

This is a fabulous B&B/guest house in a beautiful valley surrounded by great wineries & small dairies where hand-made cheeses abound. We visited in December when the weather was very pleasant & stayed several nights in one of the studio suites - - a stand-alone building with sitting area, King bed, huge bathroom & private porch. The gardens are lovely. It was not warm enough for the pool, but it looks great. The hosts are warm & generous with their knowledge of the local area. Good breakfast options. We highly recommend it.
Also, Ted the husband, is a great potter & sells his work there. YOu can watch him work in the adjacent workshop
The Yarra Valley is a couple of hours north of Melbourne. You'll need a car - - amble around & enjoy it.
