My wife and I went to Porta Via recently for Sunday brunch. The restaurant was not very busy so service was excellent. Menu seemed smaller for brunch. Pizza was excellent. You can select your own ingredients which is nice. Also had the lasagne which was tasty. Prices were very reasonable. There are drink specials during week but not on Sunday brunch. Not very busy which was surprising. Fun place and good food.

Nice place here. Ordered a salad and added chicken. It was light and fresh. Excellent. We shared a pizza and it was light and fresh ingredients were excellent! If you like Italian it's a great option on the west side!! Check them out for sure!!

my fellow celiacs and gluten-sensitive friends know how hard it is to find good gluten free pizza at restaurants! most of it is just heated up premade frozen crust... NOT at porta via! they specially hand make the gluten free crust. it is no where near the thin cardboard box crusts I am used to! the crust is thick with a great texture (not dry at all) and the flavor is amazing. 10/10 would recommend the gelato as well. it is delicious.

I had hoped that Nashville's ascendence to the foodie-town list would have had a global effect.

The optimist in me wanted to see lesser mid priced restaurants up their game. No such luck tonight if Porta Via is any indication.

Minestrone soup at a quasi-Italian dump should be a no brainer.

What I was served was a cold grease ridden veggie stew with a crouton topped with some kind of cheese. The grease in the cold stew was the predominant hit on my tongue. On sending this sad gruel back, the kitchen removed the crouton, zapped the remaining liquid in the spying microwave for about 10 seconds and re-presented me with still cold veggie stew.

Not acceptable.

Chicken parmigiana was worse.
Veg of the day was previously par-boiled previously frozen perfectly straight bio enhanced 'green beans' from Costco via China. Some were warm, some cold. The chicken had similar variations in temperature, also pre-cooked, re-heated on the pizza oven under about a pound of sad looking pretend mozzarella.

The pasta had been cooked up last week and after a couple of minutes in a water bath was soggy and deconstituted.

Wife's salad was acceptable but I'd hate to guess which farm in China the 'salmon' was created.

The management was kind enough to reduce the bill though not appropriately to compensate for the miserable experience.

Flatbread was actually good.

It's a pizza place. Forget the other stuff.

Thank golemjohnny

Our waitress was terrible. No bread. No silverware. Our entrees came before the salads and only one order was correct. Long delay with the check. We will not be returning!
