We took the kids to Dick's last resort in Gatlinburg and had an absolute blast. I guess our expectations were the same this time in Nashville.
What a flop.
With over 1700 other restaurants in Nashville we could have found something better, I guarantee it.
We went on a Wednesday night and waited for 25 minutes. I realize we are a family of six and we definitely are used to waiting for a larger group, but 3/4 of the tables were empty. You would think we could at least be sat down at one of the many empty tables.... Not so much. 25 minutes isn't long to wait at a restaurant downtown, but when the joint is empty...
Then add another hour plus until we saw our food. A salad, cheeseburger, chicken wings, grilled cheese, and a half rack of ribs that came out cold and fries that were soggy and cold. What a disappointment. I will say they made it right by bringing a new rack of ribs and fresh fries. I have to wonder why the first rack that was cold took over an hour to make it to my table and the replacement only took five minutes?! Impressive. After such a long wait and an order that came out less than satisfactory. I will say our waitress did the best she could... It seems like management dropped the ball and under staffed this spring break week night in a big way. Back home we can people in to work, does that happen in Tennessee?
And for the trademark hats.... We had to ask for them and even then we (mom and dad) didn't get one? Hats are half the fun along with the atmosphere. We are just a family of six that isn't very hard to entertain and make happy and Dick's last resort should have been a home run to satisfy that list.
