We happened to be touring this area of Nashville and we stopped with the tour group for lunch at the Hermitage House Smorgasbord. This is an old school, family run smorgasbord (buffet) with friendly staff and reasonable prices. We found the food to be very good and we thought that the staff did a nice job of keeping the quantities on display smaller than many places, but the quality seemed better. There is plenty of parking. Though fried chicken is what the Hermitage House Smorgasbord is noted for, there are plenty of other meat selections, as well as a large salad and fixins' selection.

This time tested restaurant is a family run business ever since the early 1960's. The food is excellent, tasty and well portioned. The entire evening meal was only $15pp.
There were three selections of meat, salads, deserts and seasonal fruit.

Service here was really good. The food here was typical buffet quality. They had a selection of fried chicken, meatloaf, fried fish and some others. The salad bar had a varied selection along with a varied selection of desserts. I believe we paid $12 each which included a soft drink. You can definitely load up on the food here.

The wait service is very polite and efficient. The food is not great but then again, what do you think you will get for around $10. The soft drinks are unlimited. They have really good friend chicken. They have moonpies (if you like that). They have ice cream and sherbet in cardboard containers. Oh well, it is what it is. If you have low expectations, they will be met.

We stopped here for lunch on our Grayline Historic Tennessee tour. They had a separate reserved area for us. This is a family owned restaurant and the food is served buffet style. There were plenty of salad choices, entree choices, and dessert choices. The staff was very friendly. The food was standard buffet quality.
