Description: Here's the short and sweet...This is a real BBQ joint. That means we cook our food fresh every single day - which means that sometimes we run out. Yep, that's right, sometimes we might run out! The last thing I'd ever want to do is inconvenience y'all, but I'm gonna serve you the freshest food I can. That's my standard and I wont waiver from it. We don't have a freezer or microwave in this place! We don't buy in food and re-serve it. We do it the old fashioned way - we prepare everything from scratch for that day. We come in at 5:00am every single day to prepare our food for that particular day. You see, that's the only way to do it! I hope y'all enjoy and thank y'all for stopping in to eat with me! - Pat Martin

We were not going to miss eating barbecue while in Nashville for a conference, and Martin's did not disappoint! I had a half rack of baby back ribs, hush puppies and a salad. Yum! The ribs were absolutely delicious. The meat is hickory smoked for a long time, so you almost don't need a sauce with it, since it has lots of flavor on its own. This place is large and casual, with most seating being picnic bench or high table style. There are two floors and a large open air stage at one end of the building. We went at about 8pm and it was still busy, but we easily got a table. They give you a buzzer to take to your table, and a server brings your order to you. The hush puppies were good too. Remember you have to pay to park everywhere in downtown Nashville. Don't miss Martin's BBQ!

Been to other BBQ spots in Nashville but never Martin's - decided to give it a try based on reputation and history. Ordered the sampler platter and we just loved everything on it.
Got the Baby Back ribs with the dry rub-wow! Brisket was just incredible, pulled pork was delicate and delicious. Not to mention the huge selection of craft beers on tap. I wanna go back soon.

It was decent fare, went during dinner time and the was a line outside just to get in to order. Food was pretty good, plenty of seating even with larger crowds.

This restaurant is tremendous. We went for lunch. The BBQ plate and the cheeseburger were really good. Watching the pig come out was a lot of fun. The local beers are a plus too.

Walked in with virtually no line and ordered at the counter before sitting down. We had the brisket taco entree with hush puppies and broccoli salad, a brisket plate with potato salad and hush puppies, and a brisket plate with baked beans and a corn cake. The vinegar/pepper barbecue sauce was some of the best sauce we've had, eastern or western, and the sides were plentiful and flavorful. When we left they were lined up out the door!
