The Braeside Inn is the most beautiful B&B we've ever stayed in! We had an incredible time! We relished the quiet and relaxing atmosphere! Everything about the inn, from the fresh baked cookies to the gorgeous views to the delicious breakfast to the warmth and friendliness of Tom and Wendy, was just perfect! We also loved watching the sunrise from our bed! We entered the inn as 2 exhausted parents and left as a refreshed, relaxed still very much in love couple! We will definitely go back!!

The Braeside Inn manages to do it all - and that's what makes writing this review difficult without gushing. We've stayed at many B&B's in the area - we don't do hotels - and it has been our experience that B&B's tend to be a mixed lot, each having particular strengths and weaknesses. The Braeside Inn, however, only has the good. First, the property is GORGEOUS with AMAZING views of the Smoky Mountains. Very clean and comfortable. The interior design is soft with Scottish accents. It is a subtle balance which keeps the Inn feeling "cozy" (like home), yet new and different (unlike home, more like a vacation). Comfortable and different and tasteful. Second, the Innkeepers - Tom and Wendy - were WONDERFUL and accommodating hosts. Never intrusive; always friendly and helpful. Good people. Also, the Braeside Inn's proximity to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge should be convenient for anyone who's interested in visiting those cities, but far enough away to be out into the quiet countryside. We were more interested in hiking the Smokies, and again, the Inn is close to the National Park. Tom and Wendy knew the roads less traveled and gave wonderful recommendations regarding the Park's trails. Did we mention the food? Good breakfasts - and we appreciated the special accommodation made for a vegetarian and a coffee-holic. And desserts every night! Additionally, we found that we enjoyed talking with the other guests about the day's activities instead of rushing off to our room. Finally - although this was not our one of our primary considerations - we found the price surprisingly reasonable for a Bed and Breakfast of this quality.

We have been to (9) B&B's from California to Cape May, Delaware and this was by far the best. There was all the hominess of a B&B but all the amenities of a brand new establishment. The inn keepers went out of their way to accomodate, even with diet. Their knowledge of the area was a great help in directing us to the wonderful spots in the Great Smokie Mountains. Our bedroom accomodations were wonderful. A fabulous view of the mountains, a gas fireplace, wonderful bed linens and cozy down comforter, not to mention beautiful hardwood floors and a soaking tub, satellite TV and CD player. The innkeeper is a woodworker and all of his wonderful creations are throughout the inn. Breakfasts were what I considered gourmet. And best of all, the price was reasonable. Hotels in the downtown Gatlinburg area were asking the same amount for a hotel room and continental breakfast. Endulge yourself!

What can we say....one of the nicest B&B's we ever stayed in. Why do we say this? Was it for the value, the rooms, the breakfasts, the warmth and hospitality of Tom and Wendy, or the view, the view, the view. Yes to each and every one. Tom and Wendy worked with us as we couldn't stay for two consecutive nights and they were kind enough to modify their policy to allow us to stay one night on each leg of our trip south and then on the way home again. We'll return the first chance we get.

My husband and I stayed there for a weekend to attend an event in Knoxville. It was just what we needed...far enough away to forget the hustle and bustle and just revel in the peace and beautiful views of the Smokies. Tom and Wendy were great hosts.
