Our trip was fully booked up, and still we had a great time enjoying the water, birds and cliffs along the river. We took the short cruse and only got to see one waterfall, that was actually quite nice. My advice would be to take a longer, sunset trip for best photo opps.

You can not experience this in your car or by hiking! Want to see the Colorado River of Texas - unspoiled by development?
Want to see the Llano Uplift, migrating birds and pristine waterfalls? Don't expect a "glamorous cruise ship" - expect a boat ride of the unexpected... Our trip was narrated by a knowledgeable naturalist, who informed and entertained us. He shared history, geology, biology and lore - we loved it. You never know that you are going to see - we saw cormorants, osprey, pelicans, geese, ducks, vultures, turkey vultures, egrets, great blue heron and the first bald eagle sighting of the season!!!

This was a great tour. The scenery was beautiful, especially the waterfall and large stone structures in the lake. The food was excellent. They served jerk chicken, rice and veggies with a cookie for dessert. You have a choice of either water or tea. You are allowed to bring alcoholic beverages on board and a small ice chest. The sunset was spectacular!

Boarded the boat and set out for cruise on time. Carried our own drinks and food on board all the employees were very cordial, informative and helpful during the ride. We went up lake Buchannan to the CoLord river into Mason county. Saw lots of wildlife and pretty country. There are several waterfalls to view also. It was an enjoyable experience. We bought our tickets on line and they had them in hand for us when we arrived.. Get there early for best seats or choice of seat.

I think using the word "cruise" is a stretch. It's an old boat that you can view the Colorado River and surrounding banks with a history/nature commentary. It was a sweltering summer day but was very comfortable inside with the ac. You can go upstairs to enjoy the outdoors if you choose. Two hours total. Restroom on board.
