After wandering around Fredericksburg and enjoying the sights for a few hours we started to get a bit hungry. Not being local we asked Google to help and found this gem slightly off the beaten track. Even though there weren't many reviews - we decided to give it a chance and were very happy with our choice. My husband LOVES bbq and was super complimentary about his two meat and three sides choice. I had a great cheese steak hogie and then stole his peach cobbler(which was free with my husbands meal). The staff and owner were super friendly and we wanted for nothing. The decor is fab and very authentic and all done by the owner and her family. Really gives you a sense that the restaurant has been there forever - instead of only opening in August 2017.

Fredericksburg has a hidden gem in Hoegemeyers bbq. Starting as you walk in the door and greeting by kami the experience just continues to get better. Kami guides you thru the menu and is so upbeat and cherry. Inside the place is full of bbq place staples like license plates, tx bluebonnets and country music. Very clean and well done. Then the q arrives and you can tell the someone has been expertly working to produce slight tug off the bone ribs, tender not over smoky brisket (just perfect hill country brisket), sausage Worth the try, amazing turkey sammich and juicy well seasoned chicken. The sides were off the chart family recipes and to top it off some pretty dang good cobbler. Cakey with a dollop of cream. Just the right amount of sweetness but not a Georgia style cobbler. Again we are in the hill country.
I asked to speak with the owner because I always like to meet the person responsible for the good eats and out comes Anika. So I assumed she ran things and asked who does the cooking. Here is the cool part. SHE does. Yep mrs pitmaster. She shared her life story and was very very nice. Great to hear about her German roots. Very fitting for a Fredericksburg restaurant. We also met her husband a San Antonio firefighter. Great attitude and just a charming family
Long story short lol. Give this place a try when in Fredericksburg. Great q (and I have tried some of the best in Texas) great staff, great service and we will be back next time through.
Enjoy

Ordered the 2 meat plate.
Chicken, pork ribs, baked potato salad, pinto beans.
Included was serving of peach cobbler.
Husband and I split the food, and it was just the right amount. Absolutely no complaints.
Girl at cash register was friendly. Service was fast.
You order at the counter and the food is brought to table.
Restaurant clean, decor pleasing. Just great BBQ!

What a delightful place for lunch- stay as long as you like and take your time to enjoy your cobbler as dessert!

Finally made it to eat at this new bbq restaurant. Nice size portions, I had pork ribs, wife had brisket sandwich. Good tinder meat, nice smoked flavor. Plate included 2sides and dessert.
