Though the original was destroyed in 1896, this replica from 1935 was moved back 50 yards from Main Street and houses some fine exhibits on Fredericksburg's history. The original was the 1st public building in town serving as the town hall, church, school and even a fort. The biggest surprise was a Gutenburg bible on display, from I think 1665, and when I asked how they acquired it, was told they found it packed away in storage at the old library.
