Just finished a 4 night stay at the Galvestonian. First time we have been to Galveston. You are renting a condo here not a hotel room. Depending on when you go the price can be $200 to $400 a night. The best part of this Condo is every room has a full kitchen with pots, pans, plates, cups etc… So if you like to cook you can really off set your costs by making all your meals. There is a grocery store only 2 mile away and they have grocery carts on site so you can load up and take it to your room... This is was a great way for us to save money on this trip and our kids have food allergies so I really liked being able to cook for them. Plus, all the rooms face the beach with a balcony, so you are not going to get a room facing the parking lot and they have a great pool area with easy access to the beach and plenty of towels for the pool and beach. They have chairs available for rent. If you don’t want to pay the 35.00 a day fee for two chairs and an umbrella on the beach they have wagons you can use to take all of your beach supplies. We brought our own umbrella and chairs and this made it easy. Also, if you like to grill they have a nice...Just finished a 4 night stay at the Galvestonian. First time we have been to Galveston. We brought our own umbrella and chairs and this made it easy. Also, if you like to grill they have a nice picnic area with all the tools you need to grill. As with anything where you stay is all a matter of your personal tastes and needs. Couple of words of warning. If you don’t like to cook there is no restaurant service in the Condo. Now there is plenty of great restaurants around but if you like to have your breakfast made by the hotel you will not get that here. Also, if you do plan on renting the chairs another couple who travelled with us called to rent some chairs and they sold out. So if you are a big spender and want to rent your chairs be sure to do it right away. Lastly, this has nothing to do with the Condo itself, but all the beaches in Galveston are full of jelly fish and lots of sea weed. If you like sitting on the beach, walking and relaxing this is fine. Swimming in the ocean, not so much. You might try the beaches in Florida like Pensacola, no sea weed or jellyfish. Now having said that, there are plenty of activities in Galveston and if you just like relaxing on the beach and just sticking your feet in this great. I will be going again in the future and staying at the Galvestonian.More
