The brisket at Lost Pines is as good as it gets. The brisket sandwich has more meat on it than you can eat. Dang sure worth a stop if you love BBQ!

The restaurant is nothing fancy and in fact it looks like a hole in the wall; however the place is clean and the BBQ was very good. It was a three person operations...older couple who runs/owns the place and another lady who cut the meat. All were very friendly and efficient.

We had a group of 7 people. I think we tried almost every type of meat offered - sausage, sliced and chopped beef brisket, turkey, pork shoulder and pork ribs. I think the only thing we missed were the beef ribs.

Everyone in the group was extremely complimentary of their meat choices. The sliced brisket and turkey were my favorites. Both has outstanding flavor. The brisket has a nice think bark crust, most and flavorful. The turkey was moist and seasoned very well.

BBQ was served on the side - didn't really need since the meats were well prepared.

The cole slaw and potatoe salad were big hits as well. And the sweat tea was good too!

The place is not much to look at but the BBQ was well worth the stop. Prices were good as well!

Give it a try!

We stopped here on our way through town and were very happy with our lunch. We both got sandwiches. I got the chopped beef and my husband got the brisket. We also split their potato salad which was also good.

When you drive by this little place you wouldn't think the BBQ would be that great but it is. His chopped beef is amazing. The owner use to have a little place set up in Bastrop years ago and I would stop there often to eat. It's worth checking out.
