Stopped for breakfast on our way to Houston. The usual McDonald's food but the place was very clean including bathrooms.

We went thru drive thru to get a mocha frappe. Line was long for mid-afternoon. Line moved slowly. The mocha frappe was great though with a good serving of chocolate drizzle.
We pulled in for what we hoped was a quick run through the drive thru service line. Wrong! The line was packed and moved really slowly. It took about 5 minutes to even place a order, then another 10 to move through the double line to pay, then pick up the order. The order was fine, a couple of mocha frappe drinks. The drinks were delicious, so I suppose it was worth the wait.
While I'm not a huge supporter or detractor of McDonalds, consistent service is key to their future survival. Unfortunately this location is in dire need of attention by a corporate field representitive. I truly stood at the counter for over 7 minutes, the employees definitely saw me, and not one of them made any attempt to say "hello", "give us just a minute", "I'll be right with you", or "may I take your order" - so we left.
It's sad that this seems to be the new standard in fast food service levels, but it also explains why so many chains are struggling to survive.
This location lost my future business, but Elvira's Cafe, just down the street, was able to benefit, and the food & service there were both great.
We have traveled in all 50 states and have eaten at many McDonalds. This was hands down the best McDonalds we have been to.
