We were on the road heading north from San Antonio and saw Mary Sue's Diner review on a different platform. We swung on around and through a neighborhood per the directions and pulled up to a Valero gas station. Connected was the diner. We almost said . . . nah. But, we were hungry. Glad we decided to stay. Had a good breakfast. Huevos Rancheros and Migas. Both were very good! The owner was there but had no help. She served, cooked and cleaned. Luckily we were the only people there.

Hoping this place hangs in there. Food is worth the stop. Very fresh!

Tuesday special of meatloaf was very tasty, as were the green beans, and mashed potatoes. Served with a cornmeal muffin. But for $7.49 the portions were not big enough. Since they are newly opened, I'm guessing that will change, particularly if they want truckers' business. Very friendly family members working there and we enjoyed the experience.
By the way, breakfast choices are good!

This place has only been open 3 weeks , so it has some kinks to work out. They only have tea water and coffee. No soda. the food is really good comfort food. I got a burger. it was just right size. Not too big or little. It was tasty. I think The cook must have made the patty himself because it looked homemade not frozen. it was very tasty. My husband got the Hamburger steak and fries. He said it was good. it smelled really good. They have Mexican food and burgers and sandwiches. They have a daily special. Today was catfish. They have the typical diner food. It is right off I35 in Hewitt. The lady who served us was very nice and filled our glasses often. The only drawback is it was cold in there. I had to keep my coat on and I was shivering still. The diner is part of a Velaro gas station. (kind of like Subway is). It will do well. the foods good and the server is really good.
