We stayed in one of the lodges early this week and I can honestly say then that it was simply fantastic. We had booked two rooms (each of them for 2 adults and one child) and requested them to be at Yellowstone Lodge and although we were informed at the time of the booking that it was not warrantied, as soon as we arrived a very friendly employee at the front desk informed us that they indeed had received our request and gave us neighboring rooms at the chosen lodge.
Rooms were very spacious, with two very comfortable double beds and lots of soft and big pillows nicely arranged. The view was really nice and the small walk to go from the main building to our lodge was a really pleasant with the background music and nature sounds that can be heard.
The first day we did take the bus from the hotel to the park ( runs every 15 minutes) but then we realized the path to the park was both short and beautiful as you walk by the lake and through the Village so we kept doing it that way for the remaining days.
Pool was great, temperature was perfect and the slide was fantastic, my daughter just loved it! You are given towels for free to use at the pool at the entrance and there are lockers inside (the type that uses a euro coin). There was also sauna, steem and some fitness machines there in a very well equipped space
Now the not-so-great parts: queuing. To check in at some hours you will have to queue for a really long time. Ad for breakfast, you will be given a time slot (the earlier the longest the queue) and sometimes it can reach the stairs. It really looks scary and makes you consider Paying for breakfast somewhere else but don't let this view put you off, even if looks huge it goes really fast so just be a bit patient and you'll see for yourself. Breakfast consists bread tupes: croissants, little buns, pain au chocolat, and sliced bread; different types of yogurts (including Petit swiss), fruit, ham and chicken ham, cheddar and some other cheese, cream cheese, jam, butter, juice and the typical hot drinks (tea, black coffee cafe au lait, hot chocolate). There is also the option to pay some extra to get some cooked meal (eggs, sausages etc) whichwe didn't get.
We all agreed that if we return to DLP, this Will definitely be our hotel.
