On a trip through Lubbock, we revisited the former “Hub City Brewery” (closed in 2006) which is now Triple J Chophouse. Decor is more western/cowboy than before and menu has upgraded from burgers to include incredible steaks and more menu options—including pizza. Still a casual place for friends and families, as well as a microbrewery. Thursday night was surprisingly busy and we waited 10 minutes for a table. Our server, Bryan, was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu items. Although it took about 20 min for our main course to come out, our salads and warm yummy rolls had arrived, and we were entertained by the open kitchen as well as the live music (a single guitarist well versed in 60’s, 70’s & 80’s). Both my hubby & I opted for the “smaller” steaks—8 oz “Miss Kitty”! Other options looked intriguing, but were larger cuts. The steaks were tender & juicy—perfectly cooked to medium rare! Absolutely delicious! I had a very generous portion of sweet potato fries and hubby tried Bryan’s favorite side: the creamed spinach—it was VERY GOOD! We’ll be back!
