We discovered this little family restaurant during a walk through Cogolin and were fortunate enough to occupy last free table. All other guests at the time were clearly French, so we were the "splash of color" on that particular night. We were welcomed by the maitre d' , seated, presented with the menu and chose the wine first, then the food. Unlike other reviewers, when we were asked to decide for desserts immediately, we declined and explained we will come back to the subject after eating main course. Our explanation was accepted, but truth is entire conversation was in French. There was a mistake when the order was brought to the table: instead of receiving the cold smoked salmon, I was presented with the cooked salmon. This lead to a profusion of apologies from the maitre d' accompanied by his offering this course for free. The whole situation concluded with our accepting the cooked salmon and giving up the cold starter intended as main course (it was after 21:30 and it would have been too much for dinner). We also decided to order dessert and certainly did not regret a moment. The quality of the food is outstanding, same as the presentation. My only recommendation for the owners is to try and consider every client as being a countryman even if they don't speak French or have trouble in speaking it. After all, Cogolin is located in an area where visitors come in large numbers every year. Special recommendation for this cozy small restaurant.
