My husband and I just got back from having a short break away 4 nights. Overall we had a really good time.

The 2 most important things for me when I stay in any hotel, is that it's clean and there is good food.

Our rooms was clean on arrival and tidied everyday. Some small little maintenance work that needs to be done like some chipped tiles in the bathroom.

There was a good range of l food to eat, from local Spanish food, grilled chicken and chips.

We didn't spend much time in the hotel when we did we stayed in our rooms and relaxed or hang out in the lobby and played cards.

The only thing I wasn't to keen on was the protection sheets they use for the beds, you can feel they use one that is plastic underneath, so it felt like I was sliding at time but I did sleep very will.

And just a few work needs to be done in the rooms as there was a few chipped tiles.

Other then that I would stay here again

We’ve just returned from a week at the Gloria Palace, St Augustin and had a fabulous time. Very helpful staff, good food (I’m a pescatarian and plenty of vegetarian and fish options). Lovely pools and lots of sun beds. Spacious rooms- with plenty of wardrobe space! We were on the second floor and had a fantastic view over the pools and out to the sea. However if you can get a room on a higher floor the view will be even better. Excellent chill out terrace and bar on the top floor if you fancied a change. Two very minor negatives, if you hire a car it is very difficult to find a space in their car park. Also if you have thick hair like me take a hairdryer as the one in our room had hardly any ooomph!!

We always stay in 4/5 star hotels so have expectations before we step into a hotel. Entrance is bright and friendly with a welcome offer of cava/juice after your journey. We stayed H/B as we enjoy exploring during the daytime and sampling different restaurants. Check-in was efficient and we were allocated a room on the 5th floor after we had requested a high floor; there are 8 floors with the Gorbea restaurant/ bar on the 9th. Majority of rooms have a sea/pool view, just a few at the back that seem to overlook a car park. Our room was spacious with tea & coffee making facilities, small fridge, digital TV, sofa, water replenished daily, double wardrobe with safe and a large double drawer. Balcony was private, a decent size with a small table, 2 chairs and clothes drying bars. Bathroom was ready for an upgrade with over bath shower, double sink, hairdryer and tired looking hotel soaps etc. Restaurant was always very busy with the option to eat outside at breakfast. Plenty of food choices to please all nationalities and the staff all work very hard to clear tables so everyone who comes in finds somewhere to sit quite quickly. As we were H/B we had to pay for drinks with our evening meal and this was a bit awkward as the waiters brought the drinks and then we were interrupted later, when eating, to swipe our room card and sign to be charged on check-out. Pools were of a good size, don't think they're heated, which wouldn't be a problem in the summer. Plenty of sun beds, although too close together around the main pool. More beds are available on an upper level and if you don't mind paying for your sun bed there are some in the 'chill-out' area on the roof. The animation team are not pushy and I'm sure if you had young children they would be happy with the activities, although we only indulged in a very slow game of bingo at the pool bar, I did win! Bar service at the pool was quite slow so would suggest they have another staff member at peak times. I did see a waiter with a trolley around the pool a couple of times mid morning serving mojitos etc, We watched one evening show, a dance troupe, which was entertaining and afterwards there was an ok singer for people to dance to. San Augustin has a holiday type shopping centre with a few shops and restaurants but nothing else so you will need to use the very good courtesy buses if you want more options of bars etc. Good 'touch screen' info. about buses in reception. If you're happy to chill by the pool and don't mind a down hill 10 minute walk to the beach you will love this hotel as it is very spacious, clean and all staff, including the lifeguard, are very attentive and try very hard to make your holiday a happy one.

Don't be put off by the architecture of this hotel - it ceases to matter the minute you enter the front door and receive a warm welcome from the staff. Everyobdy we met was friendly, helpful and courteous. I suppose you could call this a Resort Hotel but it is definitely a superior one!!! There were plenty of sun beds and the grounds are very well maintained. We were on All Inclusive and that worked well. The food was good, the cocktails were plentiful and the weather was wonderful!

Room Tip: We asked for a quiet room and that is what we were given.

I don’t normally go to big hotels as I feel you can loose yourself in the crowds but I must say I was pleasantly surprised.
The staff and the food are exceptionally good and hotel and rooms very clean.
The entertainment is mainly for the kids and the older clientele, teenagers in the evening could be bored but this could change in the schools Holidays as I’m sure I saw a disco(which wasn’t open) when I was there.
The seawater spa (which is a must)gym and shuttle bus to Ingels/Palomas are free.
All in all a great place to go for some winter sun ☀️
