What a find! Real Louisiana fixins' - all made right there or cooked to order. We tried most everything - a little of this and a little of that. We started with the absolutely flavorful Etoufee - our favorite, but lots more great food was coming. Mama Lou's Gumbo was delicious - nice dark roux based just like it's supposed to be.
Next was the Big Daddy Platter with fresh fried Shrimp, Catfish, and Oysters (we ordered more Oysters) with Waffle Fries and an extra side of Red Beans & Rice. All great! We finished (or did it finish us!) with Biourbon Street Bread Pudding and Key Lime Tart and fought over who was going to scrape up the last of what since we couldn't decide which we'd like better.
This is the real deal, so do yourself a favor if you like Cajun and Creole food and run right over there. It's located next to what was The Big Fisherman on Hwy 188. It operates out of a huge food truck right next to a pretty grove of oak trees. We sat at a table with the sea breeze keeping us cool and enjoyed every bite.
