I had been wanting to come back to the Prairie since my first visit in 2014, and I was SO happy to be able to bring my husband with me this time!! The grounds are breathtakingly beautiful and very well taken care of!! The cottages are so charming, and the beds are SOOOO comfortable!! Danny made delicious breakfasts every morning, and Kathy was so kind and hospitable! They wanted to make sure we were enjoying ourselves and felt right at home, which we definitely did!! We felt so peaceful and relaxed here, and we cannot wait to go back!!!

We just hosted a wedding for 140 people at The Prairie. What an amazing experience. The staff was exceptional, the cottages were beyond beautiful and the grounds impeccable. A huge shoutout to Cathy and Danny. These two, go beyond the call of duty. They were always available to us, providing whatever we needed. I cannot praise them enough. Thank you, Rachel Ashwell for providing such a magical place. The warmth and relaxing atmosphere was like a dream. We will definitely be back and I believe the newlyweds will have a wonderful place to come to on their anniversaries. Thank you all so very much!

The Prairie delivers in every way. We recently had our elopement at the Prairie and the experience from beginning to end was everything we could imagine. Our emails and questions were promptly answered by Kathy and we felt comfortable that this was the spot for us. Upon arrival we were struck by the beauty of the property, we made our way to the lodge and found personal directions to our suite with a key. The beauty of the room inside was breathtaking, there was not a single detail that was missed and pictures hardly do it justice. The best way to describe the staff at the Prairie is to say that they are there when you need them and invisible when you don't, exactly the way it should be in this setting. Breakfast was spectacular, Danny not only welcomes you and makes you feel at home but he also put together 3 amazing breakfasts. On the day of our wedding Kathy brought us some fresh picked wild flowers in both a vase and a bouquet, just in case. It is thoughtfulness like this that make the Prairie stand out. We plan on returning often, we loved our experience at the Prairie.

To any Rachel Ashwell follower this is a definite bucket list item. From the moment we walked in to the Meadow Manor the country music station had been left on to welcome us into the ambience. The place was just like the photos in the book, only better. The book has turned each and every cottage into a magical destination. For my hubby and kids and I this was just the perfect place to stop, sit on the porch rockers and take in the wild flowers, the pond and the butterflies. We were truly spoilt as we were the only guests in the entire prairie, we were greeted by Danny, Teen and of course Pearl who cooked up a scrumptious 2 course breaky every morning both days we stayed. We simply didn't want to leave. Danny gave us wonderful tips on where to take the kids each day as we explored the beautiful town of Round Top and parts of Brenham. The bedding was to die for and the lounges were so so comfy. The stillness of the country but for the sounds of nature each night were just magical. One day we will return. Until then we can only recommend you take the drive and stay as long as you need. Thanks again.
