This was the first stop on a wine weekend with one of my friends, and boy did it not disappoint! We visited 6 wineries over the course of 2 days and Spicewood was easily our favorite. At most places there are one or two really good wines and the rest are meh, but at Spicewood, everything we tasted was superb, to the point where we took 3 bottles home! The Good Guy was one of the better wines I've had in a long time so that is a must try. Also, the service was excellent - I'm so sorry I did not ask for their names, but the gentleman with the accent and the petite woman who was working with him that Saturday were so much fun and it was easy to see that they loved what they did! We will be recommending Spicewood to our friends in the area since for us, it is a must visit for Texas wine country.

We visited with several couples on a pretty weekday afternoon. Spent about 2-1/2 hours at a big outdoor table together under umbrella, enjoying great wine tasting (8 wines, white and red) as well as two delicious cheese & meat charcuterie plates. Friendly, fun and knowledgeable service from Daniel. Would definitely go back (and yes, we bought a couple of cases of wine).

We didn't have a big plan but ended up stumbling upon the vineyards because we had some extra time. We had a very laid-back tasting with some delicious wine and kind people. Can't really ask for much more. $10 for seven different wines. Beautiful front patio to sit on and have a chat and people watch.

We have passed the sign for this place loads of times over the years but never took time to stop thinking it was not much. So this time we planned a stop and although it is somewhat off the beaten path, it was worth the drive. You pass the vineyards on the way in and they are very nicely laid out. There was no customers when we first arrived but several more arrived as our stay progressed. The covered, outside patio is in the front and the first thing we noticed was the really neat wine barrel rocker chairs with metal table and chairs on the outdoor, covered patio.
They were too cute! Once inside we were greeted by the beautiful, resident dog Ana.
The sommelier was somewhat reserved at first but after a while more informative. The inside was very clean and lots of table seats as well as a few chair seats. There were gift items displayed around for purchase. We noticed a wall shelf displaying award winning wines with lots of medals. The tasting is $10 for 7 wines. You can share tasting but it amounts to a short sip for each with the nominal pour. But keep in mind the pricing is very good. The wine can be purchased by the glass $10-$15 or the bottle which starts in the $20+ range.
They have a cheese/cracker plate for $20 but I didn't feel it was worth the money. There is a varietal of wines to taste with some more impressive than others. The group did end up buying a bottle for $29 and sharing it on the patio. The setting was nice but the wine just okay but of course that was our opinion and everyone's taste is different. They do have a wine club as well. We all noticed though that the label was very simple and nothing outstanding. It wasn't a label that would jump at you on a shelf. If we are ever in the area again we might stop back in just for a glass of wine as the pour seemed ample for that and the atmosphere was pleasant. We actually stayed longer than anticipated as it was very serene and relaxing. The bathrooms were nice and clean. They also have an event center for functions.

Was staying with family at a nearby vacation rental and decided to visit. Vineyards are very pretty and they have a lovely tasting room. All six of us decided to do the wine tasting ($10 per person). We tried 7 wines. It was a very nice experience. Staff was very friendly and informative, although a bit overwhelmed.
