This hotel would be best for friends coming to ski that didn't expect any frills. Worn couches, hard beds, one tiny hand soap (1"x2") and no extra bedding provided other than a pillow. $30 resort fee includes a very small reception from 5-7 pm. By 6 pm, there were only some older carrots and a bowl of chips left. We didn't go back the 2nd night. It also includes a S'mores kit if you want to sit in front of the hotel to roast the marshmallows and 2 tiny bottles of water in the fridge. However, the rooms were pretty clean and large. No frills but a decent hotel if you can get a good deal and want to be on the slopes most of the time.

I stayed at this hotel with my two teenage kids for a ski trip to Deer Valley. I am a Hyatt Globalist, and I love the Hyatt brand. If you know the difference between all the Hyatt hotel brands you will know that Hyatt Place hotels are among their economy hotels. It is not like a Park Hyatt or Alila Marea. If my wife had tagged along I probably would've stayed at the Hyatt Centric for a nicer Hyatt stay.
With that being said, and having stayed at many Hyatt Places, this hotel is fantastic. The facility is fairly new, rooms are spacious and clean. Service was great. They have friendly and helpful staff. Typical complimentary Hyatt Place hot breakfast. And when using Hyatt points, this stay is an incredible value.
I came during the MLK holiday weekend and they were full, but it didn't feel over crowded.
The location is great for skiing at either Park City or Deer Valley. The drive to Deer Valley for us was less than 15 minutes. My understanding is many people take the local bus to get to Park City ski resort. We drove our own car to get around. There was plenty of parking. Would be great if they offered their own private ski shuttle to the ski resorts.
The only reason I did not give 5 stars for this hotel is their very strict change or cancellation policy. They are the only Hyatt hotel that I am aware of that once you book, will not allow you to cancel or change your reservation. I noticed in reading all the reviews of this hotel, all the poor reviews were because of problems related to this policy. Such a policy is unacceptable. In this day and age of post-COVID flexible travel policy, who does that?
This inflexible policy is an embarrassment to the Hyatt hotel brand.
With that being said, I do have to give a disclaimer. They were kind enough to allow me to change my reservation after a few phone calls to the hotel manager as no one else below the manager could grant me this dispensation. Maybe because I am Globalist? So I am thankful to them for that. Regardless, I feel this policy is egregious and should be done away with. It is inconsistent with the customer friendly vibe that I have experienced within the Hyatt brand.

Room tip: Try to stay in main building where lobby is, for easier access to the breakfast, especially in winter!

This hotel is great- clean, friendly staff, great breakfast, great hot tub. However, it advertises a ski shuttle, but there isn't one. The public bus stops right outside on the way to Canyons and Park City, so it is convenient to get to the mountains. However, on the way back, it stops very far away, and you must walk either in the road or in the snow bank to get back to the hotel, both are equally dangerous. The other option is to ride the bus several more stops, get off, and catch another bus coming the other direction, which takes a long time. This needs to be made clear at booking, because a lot of people think they are getting a direct hotel shuttle to the mountain and back. The bus is crowded or full during peak times and you may not get on, causing another long wait, or you may have to stand with all your equipment.
