Description: The history of Los Cucos Mexican Café is an inspiring story of perseverance and success. It’s a story of two brothers, Manuel and Sergio Cabrera who came to Houston, Texas looking for the “American Dream.” Their dream became true through lot of hard work, dedication, and determination. By setting goals for success and providing the best quality in food and the best possible service to each and every customer since 1991, they have succeeded in turning their dreams into reality. The way of success of the Cabrera brothers’ was constructed by their constant work and determination. Along the way, both brothers worked long shifts seven days of the week. They scrubbed floors, washed dishes, and prepared food. The dream in their hearts motivated them to continue forward and to save enough money to be able to open a small restaurant. The opening of the first restaurant was a bittersweet dream become true. After having their grand opening on a Monday, the restaurant was destroyed by the fire the following Thursday, leaving nothing but ashes, smoke and frustration. And there was another unexpected surprise; they didn’t have insurance. All their savings were gone, but not their dreams and their will to succeed. They wouldn’t let any obstacle, hardship, or setback stop them from achieving their goals. Working even harder, they were able to reopen the restaurant one year later. This is the beginning of a business that has consistently grown stronger and continues to grow and thrive today. With more than 14 locations and many more planned to open, Los Cucos Mexican Café is committed to offering you the best food and the best possible service. Our warm and hospitable staff will make you feel at home.Thank you for making Los Cucos Mexican Café your restaurant.

I’ve been to this restaurant several times and have been disappointed each time as my earlier reviews indicate. I thought I’ve give them one more chance, so we tried again. First disappointment was that they no longer have the items that my companion and I usually went there for. Instead, my wife ordered the shrimp cocktail, and I got a smothered burrito. The shrimp cocktail was sadly short of shrimp...lots of cocktail, not enough shrimp to justify the cost of $12.99. Same with the burrito - good, with a spicy sauce, but grossly overpriced at $12.99 also. The chips served were good, but the 2 chip dips were bland and lacking the spice expected. There are literally hundreds of Mexican restaurants in metro Salt Lake City....you can do better and at far less money than at Los Cucos.

Chips and Dips were good, Fajitas were tough and the tortillas were dry and fell apart. Was not real pleased with the food. Service was good

Found this place just because we were all starving and it was in view. Kids had quesadilla and chicken fingers. Adults, beef fajitas. Good chips with yummy salsa and a creamy cilantro dip (my favorite). Substantial portions. Cute lights and decor for Valentine's day. Food and service good.

We stayed close by for a ski week and thought this would be a great place to try for our last night in town. Tried several times to call ahead since we had 7 people but they never answered their phone. We decided to walk over from our hotel and there was a 45 minute wait at 7:30 pm on a Friday night. Went to Mimi’s across the street and got right in!

One of the few places in Salt Lake to get Tex Mex, most of the Mexican Restaurants offer traditional Mexico Food.
