We stayed at the Singletree Campground for two nights in August while visiting Capitol Reef. The campground was clean and nicely spread out, with a good amount of space at each site. Our site had a one of the best picnic tables and bbq grill we have ever had at a campground - - I guess they were new for this season. The fire pit was also nice. The bathrooms were clean and had flush toilets. There were no showers at this campground, but we were able to shower at Austin's Chuckwagon in Torrey after hiking and on our way back to the campground.
This campground is about 1/2 hour drive from the Visitor Center at Capitol Reef. We chose this campground over the one in the park, because sites were reservable and didn't want any hassles of getting a site. We were glad we camped at Singletree. The sites at Fruita Campground had very little privacy - - a parking lot feel. Plus the higher elevation and forest surroundings at Singletree made for a nice cool and comfortable place to relax after a day of hiking in the desert.More
