I was traveling on a road trip from Boston to Cleveland when I wanted to take a quick side trip to the Green Mountain State. Vermont was the only New England state that I had never visited. So, I took advantage of my route to spend the night in Brattleboro.
My first choice, Super 8, was not very helpful. Their front desk seemed to stonewall me when I asked if there were any vacancies. While the clerk dithered at the front desk, I picked up my phone and made a reservation with EconoLodge within minutes.
When I arrived at the EconoLodge, the desk clerk was very prompt and professional. We had a polite conversation about Ohio, his family, and recommendations for local points of interest.
For the price, the room was average. The television reception was terrible. I gave up watching and turned off the TV after the cable blanked out what seemed to be approximately every three minutes.
The bed was comfortable and so was the shower. For the price, it is a fairly decent stay.
And they have Belgian waffles for breakfast.
P.S. - I notice that there were quite a few in-state license plates on the cars of the other people staying at this EconoLodge. As Vermont is a small state and not like Texas or California, I leave it up to the reader to make their judgment.More
