We booked the castle for our wedding anniversary. It was beautiful and our room was beautiful as well. Very clean and accommodating. The feel of the room was very warm and was perfect for us. We did walk the grounds and enjoyed the flower area. The dinner they have smelled amazing but we didn't eat there as we didn't feel we had the right attire for that with us. Everyone was super friendly and would definitely be a place I would stay again.

All those raving reviews are for the Pointe's sister property located up the hill behind the Pointe. The upside of the Pointe is that it is located on the main road, lots of free parking and staff provide info for excursions. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The place is dated and there is one piece of furniture on the second floor that is an eyesore. If it has some historical value put a sign explaining if not get rid of it. From Pointe zip over to Calvin Coolridge Historical site. Not a plan but staff suggested and they get A+ for recommendation.

I don't know how this hotel has received so many good reviews. This place is a complete ripoff. We were unpleasantly surprised when we checked in. We were hoping for a quaint Vermont experience, but it felt like we were at a Holiday Inn. And they charge you for EVERYTHING. A replacement plastic key card is $29. The pathetic breakfast is $11.95, or $7 for YOGURT. If you want to use the gym or pool at the nice part, it's $15. The beds are the most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept on and the pillows gave us all headaches.

This hotel was clean and comfortable, and the front desk staff were great. We spent 2 nights here, and liked the location as well. That said, Groupon very deceptively advertised this hotel as though it were the Castle Resort, which is a short distance away at the top of the hill. We bought the Groupon thinking we were staying at the Castle, given the photos that were on the Groupon site. So while there was nothing wrong with the Pointe Hotel, it was not what we expected.

Room Tip: Our room, 112, was very quiet.
