Everything about this place was wonderful. Our group leader made reservations beforehand and we had a pre-selected menu. But the selections were fabulous. They even printed our club's logo on the menu!

We loved the cranberry fritters and our appetizer of crabs. My meal was Vegetarian Lasagna which was awesome.

Would love to come again. It's also a quite picturesque place.

My husband and I had a fantastic meal at Ye Olde Tavern! Great atmosphere with glowing wood fireplace and candlelight. Yummy cocktails and the cranberry fritters are a special treat. I had the turkey dinner with all the fixings and my husband really enjoyed the venison. The historic building is charming and the menu of traditional meals is very appropriate for the locale.

The food here is amazing. The filet mignon was delicious and the penne pasta (with lobster and shrimp) was also quite good. I️t was a quiet Thursday night (I imagine it’s quite bustling on a weekend) but we were welcomed warmly and our waitress was very sweet. Great food and would definitely go back.

We arrived at Yr Olde Tavern with great expectations only to discover that they had booked more reservations than they could accommodate. Finally we were put in a small back room with unset tables. It became obvious that they had never intended to serve in that room that evening.
Shortly after we were seated, another table was seated next to us. The rest of the restaurant was crowded and alive with energy. Our room was completely separate from all the other room and obviously did not generate the atmosphere of the other rooms in the restaurant. But we had a dedicated server for our small room and the food and service was good.
This is definitely a restaurant that is known for its busy and uplifting atmosphere. We definitely missed out on the charm & fun of this establishment.
But I repeat, the food was good.

Sometimes reviews are spot on and, then, sometimes they are not and this is 1 of those occasions. First of all, we try to never overbook. You were seated immediately and had a dedicated server, so why would you assume we were overbooked? Secondly, our building is c.1790 which means that it is a 'warren' of small rooms. Therefore, each room is slightly different and some rooms are specifically requested by returning diners and, thus, fill up faster.

The charm of the Tavern is in its historical atmosphere. We set and service each room with equal attention to the food and details. Thank you for noting that you enjoyed our food and service.

Cheers! Michael

Excellent filet mignon, prime rib, lobster Mac and cheese, great cocktails. Limited wine list, but overall very good! My top three restaurant in Manchester so far next to Silver Folks.
