Courtyard Marriott is a three star hotel. The rooms are fairly good and the room service just satisfactory. If you decide to stay here then just be ready to unload your luggage , load it on a trolley and then finally shift it to your room via an elevator (the only one available ). The super thing is its location which is very convinient regarding its accessibility to Banks , markets and of course Mac. Donalds which is just opposite. Well its a good place to stay.

I have found that the courtyards are typically quite good with very appropriate amenities, I.e. pool, on-site food and in this case Starbucks. The beds were great, which is always a big gamble in most hotels. Front desk service was impeccable. I wish they would have some more healthy food selection as Starbucks for breakfast quickly adds 700-1000 calories to the start of the day, BUT it's quite nice to have good coffee on-site.

I was in the area with some friends for Ciderstock festival. I booked a room with 2 queen beds, and the room was clean but there was a funny odor upon walking into the room (room 124). Smelt like maybe something had been spilled on the floor or perhaps even animal urine? Either way, it did not ruin my stay because other than the smell the room was very clean and had all the basic amenities you would need. The front desk staff were all very nice and helpful when needed. My only complaint is that upon checking in, I asked the woman how much she would be authorizing for incidental charges. She responded "I think $25". Luckily enough I know to always use a credit card to hold a hotel room and not a debit card, but the hotel authorized $192.50 for incidentals in addition to my room and tax charges. A bit much in my opinion for Middlebury, VT, and the fact that the check in agent quoted me a false amount is a bit upsetting. I would stay here again but only because it's a real hotel and not an inn or motel which seems to be the most common type of accommodation in this area.

Alexandra, thank you so much for your comments regarding your recent stay here at the Courtyard Middlebury. I apologize for the smell in that room, I just went down there after reading this with my housekeeper and we weren't able to smell anything this time so whatever it was is gone now. Hope you enjoyed the Ciderstock Festival. We generally add a nominal 20.00 to the card so my sense is that the bank added that amount and will be released soon. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Typical decent stay at Courtyard Marriott. Clean. Was not expecting that the common area did not have a coffee/tea bar. The Bistro is good and their food is pretty tasty and nicely prepared, but did not expect not to be provided with regular coffee and tea. There is a free do it yourself coffee maker in the room but the attendant only put decaf in our room so my hubby coffee drinker (who does not like Starbucks) was a little off. There is a McDonalds across the street. As an improvement, the beds, comforters and pillows could be a little fluffier, but maybe the upgrade comes at a Fairfield? There seems to be a couple of different levels of Marriot so that may be why we noted these differences. This may be Vermont, but the internet and TV reception was slow/intermittent.

Thank you for your comments, Marriott does not allow Courtyards to offer free coffee qnd tea in lobby. Will look into why no regular coffee in your room should have been.

Room was on the third floor. Everything looked new. There was a seat in the bathroom. You could sign into your own Netflix to watch your shows. Signing out was tricky. Staff was friendly. No free breakfast here. Location is good.
