My wife and I ate here twice during our four night visit to Stowe. The restaurant is a short drive outside of town. Make sure you make a reservation as they get busy. The restaurant has a comfortable feel as it is in an old house with a large wood fireplace. There is a good amount of parking in their lot
Prices are moderate but worth what you get. Portion sizes are on the large side.
The first night we split the Romaine salad which was awesome. My wife had the chicken dish which was just added to the menu. It was in a cream sauce with cheese, had some veggies and new potatoes. My wife enjoyed it as she finished the dish but thought it had an unusual flavor which we could not pinpoint. I had the jambalaya which is very good. We finished both nights with their flan which is rich and creamy and is to die for.
The seconds night we started with the pineapple salad which was ok, and for dinner we both had the jambalaya which once again did not disappoint.
Our server Hanna was better the first night than the server we had the second night but overall they both did their jobs. Hanna just had the edge as she spent a few minutes talking and listening to us as the second server (brunette) did not.
Overall we highly recommend and will return while in Stowe.
