We did a family weekend at Mount Snow. While our family has a house there, some of us had to stay offsite. Since the Snow Goose was dog-friendly, I chose it. The rooms are beautiful and very much truly Vermont.

While the Inn was clean and updated, I found it odd that there was no innkeeper and you had to check in 3 miles away. People came in at different times and we heard everything as we were right above the main entrance. If you were sleeping at 1am, you were awakened by anyone who walked in.

Not having room service or breakfast served was disappointing. I will stay at at full service in next time.

Very nice in peaceful clean well decorated. Feels like a luxury inn. I would stay there again. it is a nice place. the price was reasonable for what it is $159. I am sure it is much moire expensive in the winter.

Stayed in room #8 which was recently updated when Snow Goose was acquired by Hermitage Club, and well appointed. Queen bed and comfortable pullout couch fits four comfortably. One very nice bathroom including walk-in shower within room and a second similar bathroom with public access off hallway just outside door. Also, large common area with long dining room table could accommodate groups / multiple families gatherings. One day of skiing privilege per guest provided at Hermitage Club at Haystack Mountain, which is a wonderful experience and significant added value to be considered. It was not communicated beforehand that you have to register at the Hermitage Inn (5 mins up the road), but if you're reading this, you will now be aware so plan accordingly and consider the opportunity to grab food / drink at the bar or restaurant which is excellent.

The Snow Goose Inn is a small Inn recently acquired by Hermitage (most of the reviews on here are outdated). We booked a 2 night stay for my boyfriend's birthday weekend due to the proximity to Mount Snow and that it is an updated property compared to some of the affordable hotels/inns in the area. I think it was overpriced for the room/amenities but maybe not for the location and being ski season.

Pros: Close to Mt Snow & located right on Rt. 100 so close to bars, restaurants and ski shops. Guests can access some amenities of Hermitage - although we didn't. The room was warm, bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was the best part.

Cons: It's an Inn, an old farmhouse, so expect to feel like you are staying in someone's house. When your neighbors are in the hallway, they are just a few feet from your bed since the hallways are so narrow (Saturday morning we woke up to a kid banging on the door across the hall yelling for his parents that he was locked out). We were in a queen room #12 which was pretty small. I wasn't expecting a huge room but it was a little tight with all of our ski gear. There aren't any amenities on site and check in is a few miles down the road.

The check in/check out process didn't bother us because we were expecting it but I only knew about it from reading another guests review. The location of check in isn't included in any of the confirmation materials - FYI you check in at the Hermitage Inn. This could be a pain if you are planning to ski on the day you check out as you are given a physical key. We ended up not skiing one day and I was disappointed to not be in a hotel with the ability to order room service - specifically more coffee. It was only a few degrees outside and I wish we could have splurged on room service but that's just a minor gripe/personal choice. We booked the Inn with the plan of a quick weekend of skiing and just needed a place to sleep which it is perfect for. Overall, it's a great place to stay if you don't plan on lounging around in the room - there isn't a place to sit besides the bed or a place to store anything (no closet). Next time are in the area, we will book something else to try but this was a great last minute option and a clean and comfortable Inn, just make sure you set your expectations accordingly.
