A good place to get breakfast. Homemade jam for your toast and everything is made fresh. You can adjust any of the menu items so it's tailored to your taste. Wonderful service, and a lovely little spot to start the day. I do have one suggestion - the coffee is very weak. Invest in some *good* coffee, charge a bit more for it, and the place would be perfect.

Although the restaurant is very small and you should have a reservation I found that the breakfast was very good with unlimited coffee refills!

I have had lunch once at Mary's, a small local place. I had the daily special, hot turkey sandwich with green beans, stuffing and cranberry sauce ~ a standard dinner meal. Turkey was rather good, hand carved, not machine cut and the cranberry sauce was also good, but that is were it stopped. The beans were grossly over cooked, boiled to death and the stuffing appeared to be just damp warm bread pieces. Staff was friendly and the overall experience was enjoyable. I would return, but stay away from cooked vegetables. Lots of pies on display on the counter, but crusts didn't look flaky, just the damp cardboard type so typical of all too many places.

We discovered Mary's Cafe on the fourth morning of an 8-day stay in Vermont, and we never ate the complimentary breakfast at our hotel again. The food is delicious, the portions ample, the prices low, and the servers warm and personable. It was a delightful treat to start each day there.
