The Hotel Coolidge is an older hotel without some of the amenities that many have come to expect. (pool, exercise room). However, if you are looking for friendly staff, clean rooms, and a quiet night's sleep, the Coolidge is a terrific value. Additionally, White River Junction is reinventing itself and more activities are available in the area.

Room Tip: The inside rooms are quieter.

Thanks so much for your review. While we don't have things like a pool or exercise room, as you said, we have great staff and clean comfy rooms in our historic Hotel, in addition to being super-convenient and extremely walkable. Great restaurants, shops, stores, and live entertainment are all within a very short walk of the front door. Thanks for staying with us--we look forward to your next visit!

Loved staying here last night and I agree 100% with the reviews that emphasize how friendly and clean this hotel is. Room 133 was very quiet and I got a good night’s rest. Next time I’m in the WRJ vicinity I’ll stay here.

Thanks Ernie! 133--one of our Queen Suites--is one of my favorite rooms. I love the Queen bed with the little sitting room. It manages to be both cozy and spacious. We look forward to your next visit!

Overall stay at the Hotel Coolidge was good. Room was clean and presentable. Staff was friendly and helpful. However, the hotel is in need of renovation. It has a tired look to it. The awning outside old and falling apart, as well as the entrance door. Sprinklers can be visible, but not all the pipes as well. Reception area not well organized; lots of possibilities there. Unused room adjacent could be used as the coffee room with an antique American table to put it on, as an example.

Room Tip: Too much furniture; a bit large for the room size.

Thanks for your feedback and suggestions, although I do take issue with some of your descriptions. The "unused room adjacent", for example, is a fully-functional little cafe, waiting for just the right person to take it over. Previous guests have described the Hotel as comfy, cozy, and like a trip to Grandma's house, and have loved the lobby with it's deep armchairs, honest-to-goodness real fireplace beautiful wooden banister, and the changing artwork on display. Thanks for staying with us, and taking the time to write a review!

Clean room and perfect for kids. Loved the retro style and character. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Voucher for breakfast at Tuckerbox was appreciated and they even had a vegan option. Conveniently located.

We stayed here for the graduation weekend of. CCS. The hotel is old and hasn’t really been updated. But it has a lot of character, is clean, and the location is the best. Every room seems to have its own unique character. We had a bedroom and sitting room and a bathroom in between. The bathrooms are updated, but not contemporary. We would stay there again without question.

Thanks so much for your four-star review. Yes, our Hotel is old--it's on the National Register of Historic Places! I agree, it is full of charm and character, and our Housekeeping staff takes great pride in keeping the rooms meticulously clean. And the suite you described is one of my favorite set-ups in the Hotel, but just one of about a dozen different room styles available here. Our super-convenient, eminently walkable location can't be beat. Thanks for staying with us. We look forward to your next visit!
