Only drawback is that there is not a way to contact directly the innkeeper during COVID times. Another guest locked the front door despite signage, and we needed to find a back door in the dark. There was not a response to a phone call and message. Beautiful walk around the lake and into the Paradise Park let us go home with happy memories nevertheless.
We stayed in Room 3 with a shower and heated floor. Comfortable bed and rain-style showerhead made all feel luxurious, plus L'Occitane bath products and shampoo -- a favorite splurge brand of mine! Lovely collection of books about Maxwell Perkins, editor of Fitzgerald, Hemingway, and Thomas Wolfe, including letters from him to authors. Hike Mt. Ascutney is my recommendation, and the Train Station restaurant has good food (and beer) and great service.More
