We stayed at the Bridgewater Cottage & Inn this past weekend (Jan 4-6, 2013). A delightful place and decorated with character and very comfortable. The room was larger than any other B&B we have stayed in. Mary always greeted us with a smile and breakfast was delicious. She was gracious in providing directions and recommendations on things to do in the area. We would definitely stay here again!

Stayed at this nice, very comfortable place in late October for a birthday gift weekend for gf. My expectations were exceeded by the bfast and size/privacy of the spot. I originally was attracted to some Living Social "deals," with wine and cheese and whatnot, at other INNs in the general Shenandoah region and other parts of VA. However, this place's rates with the "Kiss Package," was just plainly a better value. It included the entire top floor of an historic ornate INN, with two bedrooms (we only needed one), access to a jacuzzi, and driving distance to hiking and wineries. It would be perfect for two couples maybe if there was a wedding in the area, or for four people to share for some other such event, because there was a common dining/TV room with a kitchen and full fridge. It was awesome. The innkeeper made us this amazing breakfast twice, and, again, as part of the "kiss package," we got these excellent locally-made chocolates AND truffles, champagne, and cheese. Cheese was store bought, but whatever. Coffee in the morning was free and good. It was a lot for what I paid, and the food was amazing. Also as part of the package we got a gift card to the restaurant down the street. It was only decent, nothing decadent or fancy. Food and waitstaff was serviceable and informal, so if you know that going in you're bound to be satisfied. I got the eggplant parm one night, which was excellent. The seafood dish I had the next night was less good, but that's the deal for mid-VA seafood probably. Anyway, we used the jacuzzi and drank wine, visited vineyards, and went on a foliage-laden picturesque hike. Awesome time, awesome breakfast, awesome place. Forget Living Social deals, this is a diamond in the rough.

We stayed at the Bridgewater Inn for 2 nights at the cottage. The whole experience was as close to perfect as it could be,...Mary the owner was gracious and the Gourmet Breakfast was Fabulous....homemade corn muffins, and orange french toast with superb maple syrup... incredible relaxing. If you want a place that is very quiet and a spectacular view of the wild life of animals... squirrels, rabbits and birds this is so peaceful. Very clean, warm and comfortable. We will be back with our family! The small touches made our stay more enjoyable.

What a special place. It was like staying in our own private retreat. The accommodations had lots of character and personal touches. It was nice to have a sitting room and kitchen in addition to the bedroom. It is a great central location for Shenandoah Valley adventures. Bridgewater is a quaint college town. Dining possibilities were within walking distance. Your choice of a delicious breakfast each morning. The grounds are beautiful and add to the retreat like atmosphere. There is a separate building for larger functions and to invite friends to. Mary the inn keeper is delightful and a great source of information. All this at a very affordable price.

Bridgewater Inn & Cottage is perfect if you are looking for a nice, quiet and comfortable place to stay. The rooms are clean and furnished to feel homey and cozy. The owner, Mary, provides refreshments and brings a freshly cooked breakfast to your room in the morning. The large gardens is a nice place to sit and enjoys the plants, flowers and wildlife. The authentic barn offers a recreational area and houses bicycles for guests to use. The Inn is within walking distance of the Main Street's shops and restaurants and is close to many places in the Shenandoah Valley like parks, wineries, civil war attractions, and the skyline drive. Mary is very knowledgeable about the area and can help you with planning.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and have already made reservations for several Bridgewater College football game weekends this fall.
