“An awesome 2 hour trip at sunset”
Review of Spider's Explorer

Spider's Explorer
Reviewed 1 October 2016

Previous TA reviews of Captain Spider encouraged us to make contact with Captain Spider and book a sunset trip.
The day before we arrived he made contact to tell us that he had a problem with his main boat, but as there were only two of us booked for the trip, he could take us out in his own personal boat.

He was apologetic about the change, but in fact we had the time of our lives and enjoyed every minute.
He is an interesting, well informed and entertaining guy who told us much about the history of Chincoteague and about the current economy and way of life. He showed us around the island – it’s good to see everything from the water – and took us out to get a great view of the Assateague lighthouse and then on out into the bay to see the sun setting. It was a perfect evening in great company.

Thank you Captain Spider.

We took our tour with Captain Spider. We saw so much and learned even more. He carries a photo album covering the information told to us.He went the extra mile to answer every question and ride by every possible attraction. A very enjoyable trip. Yes I would go again with Captain Spider.

Captain Spider was recommended by a couple sitting next to us at breakfast as they heard us talking about a boat tour. We wanted to see the island by boat before we left and Captain Spider agreed to an early morning tour before the heat of the day. He picked us up at our hotel dock and our party of four had a private tour! The ponies had been rounded up the night before so he said he couldn't guarantee we would see any but we did! We were also lucky enough to see dolphins and bald eagles while getting the history of the island. Great experience!

Very much enjoyed Capt Spider and his extensive knowledge of the island and it's history. Definitely a must GO-TO person for an island tour

We used Capt Spider several years ago for a sunset cruise and enjoyed our experience so much that we sought him out again this year.

His cruises are not packed, I believe he is licensed for six and our cruises have both been just two couples. The small group size allows him to provide an incredible amount of information about the island and its history as he takes you completely around the island in time to view the sun setting over the water. If the horses are roaming free you may catch some good pics!

His boat is clean and well maintained with comfortable seating.

The cruise last 2hrs and the price was very reasonable.
