My son and daughter-in-law chose Sinkland Farms as their wedding venue. We were able to decorate the venue Thursday and had a family gathering on the patio Thursday night before the Friday night wedding. Due to rain the wedding was held in the barn chapel which has old wooden church pews. The sun did come out so we were able to get some outdoor photos with the mountains in the background. Debbie the event planner was outstanding. We met Susan the owner as well.
The pumpkin festival is far too expensive. Going to pick a pumpkin and a 5 minute hay ride should not cost $50. It's a money pit. I've also heard that several were very unhappy with booking special occasions here. Buyer beware.
We usually take our two small children here every fall to pick a pumpkin and ride the hay ride...there's a corn maze for everyone and things for the smaller kids to do as well. They have animals, kind of like a small petting zoo and they even sell basic snacks like hotdogs, bbq and they have great ice cream. Go and you won't be disappointed! Have never been to a wedding here, but we actually checked it out 3 years ago when we got married, we just preferred a church wedding. Just exploring our options...but I hear it is nice and they do you right!
Sinkland is all about the staff! The staff is pretty wonderful! I have been there for Weddings, Pumpkin festivities and a few other events. New River Community College flies their student built rockets there as well. Now that is a FUN event to be invited to. Rockets that fly so high they disappear for a second, then one gets to watch them parachute back.
SINKLAND is EVERY ONE'S FARM!
My husband and I attended a Christmas party at Sinkland Farms and they had the best decorations (lots of pretty lights). It was fairly cold, so we left our coats on, but it was absolutely frigid outside that night and their indoor heaters just couldn't keep up. Other than that, the catered food was delicious and Santa made a visit. Lovely place to visit any time of the year but Pumpkin season and Christmas are my favorites.
Wow....times have changed, the last time we "attempted" to go there they charged for parking ($10!!!) the pumpkins were very expensive and there was a charge for everything that you do...very disappointed in the path that they have taken with this pumpkin patch
