Robert and Georgia retired and closed Forest Sub and Deli ☹️ We wish them well in their retirement.

It's hard to call this a restaurant. It's more like someone's kitchenette that serves dirty sandwiches.

Service is horrible and the food is bad. I got a Philly Cheesesteak that was more like a bread and mayonnaise sandwich with lettuce. Oh, I also spotted a few drops of cheese and a speck of mystery meat.

Robert & Georgia make customer service top priority. As soon as you step through the door, you feel right at home. Their subs do not skimp on meat so be ready for a lunch that will keep you going through the rest of your day.

The original owners have returned to Forest Sub and Deli to revive their once thriving business. They make the best subs in the area. I like the roast beef, while my wife likes the ham and cheese. The owners who wait on you are extremely friendly and accommodating. When you return they will often remember your previous sub order. The atmosphere is that of a lunch time diner and they are only open during the lunch time. This is one place you do not want to miss.

Decided to drop in on this little place I had passed numerous times, but never tried. The establishment was clean and seemed to be a nice little "Mom and Son" Place, with Mom making the sandwich while teenage "son" took the order.
Both were friendly, down home people and the sub ordered (Italian), was put together quickly and, since take out, less than 5 minutes.
As to the sub itself, it was ok, but could have benefitted from a little seasoning, which was added once home. The vinaigrette was equally unremarkable, basic oil and white vinegar mix, a shake it up and squirt mix that could have used a little balsamic edge.
The bread was almost too fresh and soft, and absorbed the vinaigrette like a sponge, which became a bit problematic when home and saturated. Key point to remember if a take out with a ways to go until you can eat it: Ask for the vinaigrette to be separate.
Still, the ingredients were good, not skimped or counted, had flavor, and a good blend as hoped for.
A cut above the Subway for roughly 6 dollars.
