I just love a verandah and this house has a beauty: confortable seating, lovely landscaped on a hill overlooking town. Margo, the non-resident manager, was there to meet us on arrival and to serve breakfasts. Her dining recommendations were excellent. We stayed 2 days for the Fiddler's Convention and biking the trail.
Upstairs coffee, beverages, and ice in the hallway.
Don't try to sneak up the "nightengale" stairs though.
I was surprised the neighborhood had so much litter by the streets.

Room Tip: Double room with garden view was upstairs next to bathroom.

Margo , the innkeeper could't be more gracious and helpful. The place is furnished to the 9's and her breakfast is spectacular.

We relaxed on the front porch upon arrival with a glass of wine and just enjoyed the view and the quiet. we'll be back.

My friend and I stayed at the Doctors Inn on the first night of our annual cycling trip. This year, we started with the New River Trail, a great ride, and the trailhead's only about a mile from the inn.

The Doctor's Inn is a beautiful house, located 2-3 blocks from the downtown proper, easily walkable. They have several rooms with king or queen beds, but only one with two beds as we needed. The room was good, although it didn't have a bathroom attached. Breakfast the following morning was excellent. There were two older couples at breakfast as well, and we ended up chatting for an hour before hitting the trail. The innkeeper allowed us to keep our car there an extra night while we were on the trail, very helpful. All in all, one of the better BnB's we've stayed in on our trips.

This is one of the best B & B's we have ever stayed in. Margo who is the manager welcomed us with warmth and freshly baked delicious brownies. She recommended that we go to the Rex Theatre that evening (Friday) where there was a terrific Bluegrass Band playing. She also gave us two very good dining suggestions.
The room we had was extremely comfortable. Breakfast in the lovely dining was varied and delicious.

This place is just a gorgeous and a very unusual B & B. We had stayed there 5-6 years ago and returned again while visiting the Blue Ridge Parkway .... Galax is a great starting point for the parkway. Talk about clean and neat! The wood work and decorations throughout the house match the Victorian style of the early 1900's. Comfy beds made for a couple good nights sleep and wake up to a breakfast that certainly gets a 5 star in my book. Margo, the Inn Keeper, makes this place special. Within walking distance to downtown and about 5 miles or so from the parkway. We'll be back.
