I hesitated to leave a review, lest this marvelous inn be so swarmed with visitors, I could never hope to stay again. Unless I booked at least a year in advance. However, I decided they deserved the praise and any uptick in patronage was their rightful due.
Room was spacious and had real furniture, as well as enough of it, to make spending time inside quite comfortable. Outside, the small balcony (with seating for two) overlooked a lovely meadow, WITH flowers, and what appeared to be a creek running behind it. The plantings were colorful, and beautifully tended. Easy access for our dog on leash as well.
Our room was immaculate. Truly. Beds were perfectly comfortable, and reassuring clean. Night fell quietly, and peace prevailed late into the morning. We were startled to see the parking lot was quite full, but no one revved their truck engines, or slammed doors loudly.
A rarely encountered courtesy these days.
Breakfast was tasty and well prepared, available as a buffet. Again, the cleanliness found in our room extended to the dining room.
Mary was a delight, and made everyone feel very welcome.
Absolutely lovely time!
Will stop here often as we run up and down from DC to Asheville.

Room tip: Parking is in front of each room, and rooms are all on one level.

WOW!! That was certainly high praise that you gave us.............AND, exactly the way we want all of our guests to feel about their stay at The Village Inn. Thank you so much for taking your time to write the review. The Creek Beautification Project is a new one of ours; striving to provide our guests with a lovely view of the area surrounding the creek. We also have a Walking Trail that follows along the creek for those seeking a little exercise after a long day of driving. Or, they may enjoy a swim in our outdoor pool and relax in the hot tub. We want all of our guests to feel that they ARE our priority with the comforts of home away from home. Please, DO come back to see us again when you're next in this area of The Shenandoah Valley.

On long trip up to Pennsylvania I stayed at Days Inn, Quality Inn, and Super 8. When I looked up some hotels in Harrisonburg I found this independent place had good reviews and was only $69 with my AAA discount so I booked it on their website. What did I get? A very nice, well furnished and spotlessly clean room. A definite upgrade from the other hotels at about the same price. Enjoyed the convenience of parking at the door, it was quiet and I felt very safe at this well lit hotel. Great staff too. The breakfast buffet was $10 and included a lot of food. My only complaint: the soggy bacon. Motel is located on very scenic US 11 just off I-81. This is the kind of hotel that makes road trips fun.

Room tip: Some rooms have balconies, mine did not.

We're so glad that you enjoyed your stay at The Village Inn and we appreciate your taking the time to write a review of your stay. We are very blessed to have a wonderful, conscientious staff who take pride in their work and in providing good service for our guests. Our dining room is serving menu or country buffet for breakfast and a buffet for lunch time, but we are not open for dinner at this time. We are located just outside of Harrisonburg in a quieter, more scenic location in the area offering our guests the comforts of home away from home. The grounds are well-maintained and we have an outdoor swimming pool and hot tub where our guest can unwind after a long day of travel. We're so glad that you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to seeing you again.

What a great room for a reasonable price. Totally updated room and bathroom with whirlpool tub. Two luggage racks, fridge and microwave. Pool and playground. Only disappointment was that upgrades have replaced the shuffleboard with corn hole (the shuffleboard scoring board is still there). Would have loved to play that game again...Not far from Cross Keys winery, Dayton Markets and Shenandoah Heritage Market.

This hotel was a pleasure to stay at. The rooms were spacious, clean and updated. The little porch was a nice surprise. The rooms were quiet and the staff pleasant and helpful. I would definitely recommend staying at this gem of a hotel.
